Policies and Procedures Presentation

The Policies and Procedures Committee has met under the direction of their Chairperson George Walker several times since the beginning of the year.  Our Policies and Procedures have not been reviewed or revised for over four years, so George’s Committee has several issues to address.
The Policies and Procedures Committee will give a presentation today to update us on their work and seek input from the Club regarding potential changes.  Arguably the most important potential change is a revision of the distribution of Home Show proceeds.  This revision is being considered in order to provide adequate funding for our increased administrative costs.
Our current budget for 2012-2013 is in deficit by about $8,000 - $9,000.  By directing some increased portion of the Home Show proceeds to administrative costs, we can eliminate future potential deficits.  Other options to address the deficit could include reductions in spending on other budget items.
Thank you to George and his Committee for their hard work in putting a presentation together for our Club.

Holiday Bell Ringing!

Thank you to our Community Service Chair Steve Kyne, who organized the Holiday Bell Ringing on December 22nd at Wilton Mall.  Thank you also to all the following volunteers who braved the elements and rang the bell for the Salvation Army: Dave and Mary Lou Snyder, Karl Broekhuizen, Bill Hieber, Matt Dorsey, Kirsten Drabek, Stephen Kyne, Bill Young, Jeff Many, and Don McPherson and his daughter.
The Salvation Army Holiday Bell Ringing is their most important fundraiser of the year, and Rotary’s support is important to their success.  This past year, with the funds they raised, the Salvation Army was able to give gifts and holiday provisions to over 100 families.  Thank you to Amber Boone for all the great work she does.
