Ellen Tuzzolo and Friends of Camp Little Notch

On Wednesday, July 13, 2011, we were privileged to have Ellen Tuzzolo, the Executive Director of Camp Little Notch, as our speaker. Camp Little Notch is headquartered in Saratoga Springs.  It had been a Girl Scout camp until approximately two years ago.  It is located on 2800 acres of land, about 15 miles north of Glens Falls in Fort Ann, NY.  The Camp’s goal is to provide opportunities for all people to practice living in harmony with nature, each other, and themselves.  The Camp provides a restorative environment in which individuals, families and communities may enjoy the beauty of the Adirondacks.  It is available all year for outdoor programming, retreats for youth groups, community-based organizations, not for profit groups, businesses, artists of all kinds and innovators seeking space to dream big.  The not for profit segment is specifically interested in partnering with low income communities, communities of color and people of varying abilities.  It also continues to provide outdoor space for girls and women to honor its tradition of Girl Scout camping.  Groups may develop their own programming and retreats that meet personal and organizational needs and can be enhanced by the on-site staff.  This type of freedom breeds creativity and decision-making skills.  More information about this not for profit can be found at www.friendsofCLN.org.
