SARATOGA SPRINGS — A Guitar Hero Fundraiser, in remembrance of the late Pfc. David Taylor Miller, is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, at Universal Preservation Hall at 25 Washington St.

Miller was killed June 21, 2010, in Afghanistan. He would have turned 21 this Veteran’s Day (11-11-11).

As a youngster, he struggled with his weight, but lost more than 30 pounds after joining the U.S. Army.

The group Taylor’s Heroes will be promoting fitness and nutrition to children to help them create a healthy, happy lifestyle. The group’s goal is to provide children with the tools and support they need to get healthy and stay healthy. This will be achieved through different forms of exercise and nutritional education, taught by certified professionals throughout the year.

Taylor’s Heroes wants to help kids learn such skills, which will last a lifetime and create a worthy legacy for Miller.

The Nov. 11 party will have a rock and roll theme and feature a band, food, silent auction, guitar hero station, photography and a cash bar.

People may support the benefit as a sponsor, donating to the silent auction or buying tickets and joining the party.

Miller graduated from Saratoga Springs High School and joined the army during his senior year.

He was buried at Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors and received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
