The Rotary Leadership Institute of Northeast America, Inc. gives leadership training to Rotary members throughout the east coast.  We’re lucky to have the program available locally this month at Siena College.

The Rotary Leadership Institute sessions will be held at Siena on Saturday, October 20th.  The program consists of four options: Part I, Part II, Part III, and graduate courses.  Those completing each part are eligible for the next part.  Those completing all three are eligible for the graduate courses.

The courses are designed to provide Rotary knowledge and to develop leadership skills for voluntary organizations.  Courses include: “The Rotary Foundation”, “Membership Development and Retention”, and “Creating Hands On Service Projects”.

The Rotary Leadership Institute session at Siena is a full day event, with breakfast, lunch, and a coffee break provided.  The cost is $75.  Please talk to Matt Dorsey if you’re interested in attending.  In the past, the Executive Board has supported covering the cost of this training for those who are interested in attending.

Additional Details on Spirit of Peace Festival

The Spirit of Peace Festival is being held on November 8th at the Hall of Springs.  The following entertainers have just been announced for the event:  World Rising Stars Champions Ricardo Sopin and Iraida Volodinao, who will perform an Argentine Tango; John Pezzulo, who plays a unique fusion of flamenco and jazz guitar and who has performed at Proctors and Turning Stone; and our own Wild Irish Acres Dancers from Saratoga.

The District is also looking to video tape the first leg of the Spirit of Peace run down the Avenue of the Pines at Saratoga State Park on October 27th at 10:00 a.m.  Volunteers are needed to cheer on the runners as they enter the Park.  Contact Assistant District Governor Steve Heidorn if you’re interested.
