Last week’s Rotary luncheon guests were Mary and Douglas Lyall, who discussed the safety and protection of children.  The Lyalls daughter, Suzanne Lyall, was last seen alive in 1998 at the University at Albany campus.  Since then, the Lyalls have tirelessly searched for their daughter, and have offered assistance to other parents whose children are missing.  The Lyalls discussed their Surviving Parents Coalition, as well as their Center for Hope website, www.hopeformissing.org.

The Lyalls are now launching a new program called radKIDS, which will teach children about school safety, home safety, out-and-about safety, vehicle safety, personal safety, physical defense and “good, bad and uncomfortable touch”.  The Lyalls are both certified instructors and hope to start an instructor program.  The program addresses the handling of realistic defense against abduction. The Lyalls hope to partner with various school districts in Saratoga County to instruct students on the importance of preventing abduction.  The radKIDS website is www.radkids.org.
