The Common Roots Community Garden, managed by AIM’s Employment Services Program focuses on teaching life and work skills for people supported in multiple services at AIM. AIM's 5.18 Day is an opportunity for the community to join the people served, and their staff, to prepare and enhance the garden for the growing season. The day will consist of prepping the grounds, with lots of digging, raking, planting, building, painting, and connecting. Volunteers should be ready to squat, stand, pull, or lift as we prepare the garden for the growing season. People of all abilities are welcome, and we will find a project for you!

Project Lift is a free after-school prevention program for referred students that operates at each of the Saratoga Springs City School District elementary and middle schools. The program utilizes a unique approach that includes research-based curriculum, games and art to enhance children’s social and emotional skills and improve decision-making. The staff and volunteers work to empower the participants to have conversations about lessons on the prevention of drug, tobacco, alcohol, gambling, violence and bullying. Together the students learn to build their self-esteem and realize their self-worth as well as learn how to set and respect healthy boundaries. Throughout the school year, we host opportunities for our “Lifters” to share what they are learning by inviting their families in to celebrate their many accomplishments. |
